Re: realign a lourve pane

Hi @roxey

I hear what you are saying  your  Altair window Lourves are out of alignment   is it not really annoying these things happen.

Lets  try and help you fix this.

As these windows are very mechanical in nature offer a little lubrication will help them move  properly.

Can I recommend a silicon spray can?  It will have a plasitic nozzle and basically insert it down the insides of the louver handle slot and into the hinges of the individual  louver pivot points.  Avoid oil  sprays like wd40 as they will work well for a while but gum up later  with dust,

The goal is to free the mechanism to work as freely as  possible.

Age can make these items sag with age  It maybe possible the makers  of this quality  product can  provide you with a spare parts kit or service to restore them to optimal performance.

Re: realign a lourve pane

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @roxey. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about window louvres.

If you're having trouble with the alignment of a louvre pane and can't see any mechanical reason why the window isn't shutting properly, it’s a good idea to first inspect the window for any obvious issues such as bent or broken parts, or something obstructing the mechanism. However, if everything appears intact and there’s still an issue with alignment, the best course of action would be to reach out to the manufacturer of your Altair louvre window. They would have the most specific and detailed knowledge about how their product works and can provide troubleshooting advice or even recommend the right tools or techniques to realign the pane effectively.

It's possible that there could be a minor adjustment needed in the system, or there might be a unique method for realigning the panes that only they would be aware of. Contacting the manufacturer will ensure you’re following the correct steps to avoid any damage to the window or its components.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
