Hi,
I want to fix/cover this exposed metal corner. I looked at few videos and have come up with a plan to apply some Selleys Spakfilla, sand the area and use some paint.
However, when applying spakfilla, it does not stick to exposed metal.
Could I please know what is the correct fix?
Hi @akarki,
Thank you for your question about repairing an external angle in your home.
What you're seeing is a 90° External Angle Plaster Trim.
My advice is to use a plaster product such as this Less Mess Multi-Purpose Joint Compound. Give it a good mix to make the plaster compound fluffy and smooth and then apply it to the corner with a Craftright 100mm Joint Knife, doing your best to follow the contours of the existing plaster.
Once dry, give it a light sand with a sanding sponge before painting to match the surrounding areas.
You might like to have a look at How To Attach And Plaster An External Angle for some further guidance.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi @JacobZ
I have the following damage to the corner of my wall, which has exposed the plaster trim:
I am guessing Spakfilla will not adhere to the metal. Is there any way I can do a repair without buying Less Mess Multi-Purpose Joint Compound because that seems like too much product for my purposes?
Kind regards

Hi @clueless_dude,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
I'd say you would have more success in your application than the one above as there is much more surface area for the Spakfilla to cling to.
Just make sure to press the Spakfilla onto the external bead so that it pushes through the holes.
Give it a try and let me know how you go, I'm happy to assist further if required.
