I have a Lay z spa Maldives, and i cant seem to work out one of the pockets that i would have thought was a hole for one of the jets.
I took a look at one of the other pocket holes that actually holsters a jet but it looks different.
Im wondering if it simply is a plug to let air out intentionally .. but i cant seem to see a plug to cover it...
i have uploaded an image to show.
It doesnt seem to be on many other maldives lay z spas.. so im stumped.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Lara244. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about a Lay-Z-Spa.
Being so close to the bottom, I would have thought that this is potentially the water drain plug. Is there a water drain plug elsewhere? What's on the other side?
It appears that a fitting was attached to the front of it. Is there a grill loose anywhere?
As you've found, I, too, couldn't find a reference to this port in other assembly guides. If you could show us what's on the other side, that might assist our helpful members in providing some insight.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Mitchell
Hi Mitchell
Thank you for responding, I am still here scratching my head..
Its a tricky one .. i will send you an image of the entire inner lining.
I looked at the circle glue line surrounding this hole, and thought maybe it is another hydrojet but missing its outter case dial... but it is as you say in a spot that is down by the feet, so also thought it would be some kind of plug..
My worry is.. If i Plug it up with something that supposably fits and then i turn on the pump for the hydro jets would i potentially blow-launch the plug out?
It needs some sort of case/plug as it currently expells air through the middle hole as it stands.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Hello @Lara244
I found a Bestway video from our supplier that has a visual guide of the spa, but it still does not explain what that mystery part is. However, I don't think you'll need to cover it as the demonstration shows that they just unlocked it to make sure it was free of debris and put it back into place. Please have a look and tell me what you think.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Hi Eric,
I have seen this video yes, thanks anyway.
'the demonstration shows that they just unlocked it to make sure it was free of debris and put it back into place.' Yes that was on the hydrojet inserts that can be changed around in the other hydrojet pocoets.. unfortunately this isnt the same as the other hydrojet pockets and therefore i have ruled out extra hydrojet insert. I has to be a second drainage hole but there must have been a value or plug for it but i can not find anything that would thread on the inside. I have to Plug it somehow before i fill the spa up, the air wont hold up with out something over it.. I stuffed a sock in it for now to see if there were any punctures but luckily there doesnt seem to be any other air leaking.. just this mysterious pocket...
Thank you for your time.
I have cleaned the spa up since the previous photos and given more air, this is its current state.
Hi @Lara244
The spa looks good and ready for summer! I'll send an email to Bestway and see if we can get more information about it.
Eric
Hello @Lara244
I've received information from the customer service team at Bestway. The translucent mystery part is apparently the Aqua Glow (water powered LED light). If you still have your manual, it is part number number 18 and does not need any form of battery as it is water powered. I would infer that when the pump is on, water passes through this unit as well thereby powering the LED light.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
