This is my first painting job it’s my alfresco floor need to repaint. I chipped lose paint with wired brush and scrapper then put degreaser then wash with water gun. I need to ask that where I scrapped , do I need anything under the paint? And how to paint step by step please. Also when I wash with pressure gun some paint chipping when I brought close. Do I need to take whole paint off as Bunnings guy told me to put it over.
Hmmm. Really depends on how well the current paint is binding to the concrete whether to get it off or not. If its flaking off really easily then I would get rid of it all otherwise you risk the next coat just flaking off too.
What are you planning to use for the new coat @Goldy?
Any interest in epoxy? https://www.workshop.com.au/t5/Garage-and-Shed/Epoxy-garage-floor-project/m-p/11593
Thanks for that @Goldy, I think your answer is there on the can. If it is not sound, remove all paint. It's not going to be a fun job, but really the only way you can guarantee a strong bond to the surface and that you don't have to do all this again.
No worries @Goldy.
No primer needed - you'll just need multiple coats of the Ultra Pave. White Knight say to thin the first coat with 20% water for bare concrete. The water helps the paint to penetrate the concrete and adhere better. For the second coat they recommend adding grip additive for a safer non-slip surface to walk on.
