How can I build my own sliding door screen?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @cl0udy. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about creating a sliding door.
Are you planning to build a sliding screen door to fit into an existing track system, or will you need to install one? If there’s already a track, knowing its type and measurements will help in recommending the best approach. Also, where is this sliding door screen going—will it be for an external doorway, an internal partition, or perhaps an enclosure for a patio or veranda?
If you can share some photos of the opening and any existing tracks or framework, that would really help our community get a better understanding of what you're working with. That way, we can provide more specific advice on materials, fitting options, and any potential challenges you might face. Let me know if you need any assistance posting images.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

G'day Mitchell,
Thanks for replying.
The screen door is for an existing track system. I don't know what type it is though.
It's for an external doorway leading to our backyard.
Are there available pre-built screen doors that I can just snap into the existing tracks?

Hello @cl0udy
If you are after a security screen door, I suggest looking at the Cowdroy Aluminium Sliding Barrier Door. It has a diamond grille and fibreglass mesh and can be ordered as a made to measure to fit as a replacement door (Track not included). The allowable measurements are Min Size 1510H x 507W up to 2512H x 1365W. It's very important that you double check the available space of your door frame before you finalize your order.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
Eric
Can see some of these on display? or not since they are all made to order?
Hi @cloudy,
Unfortunately no, you won't be able to see them on display.
There are other Security & Screen Doors on display that you can have a look at, but not the one that @EricL has linked to.
