How to attach hinge door to the base of pull out bins?

I currently have Hafele OSKA-FSC 450mm wide pull out waste bins under my sink , inside my hinge door cabinets.

I would like to attach the door to the current cabinet. So when I pull the cabinet door , the bins come out.

Re: How to attach hinge door to the base of pull out bins?

Hello @bijujose

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your Hafele bin.

The Hafele OSKA-FSC is not meant to operate with the door swinging out. You'll notice that the front of the bin has angle brackets in the middle section of its pullout frame. This is where the door is meant to be mounted on so that when you pull the door it pulls the bin out as well.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: How to attach door to the base of pull out bins?

Hi Eric, Thanks for your reply. I choose these bins by mistake in my building contract. What I wanted was bins mounted to the door. I have uploaded a sample picture. Is it possible to remove the hinged door and mount it to my current Hafele OSKA-FSC (503.06.722)  pull-out? If yes, could you please help with the instructions? Thanks  thumbnail_image009.png

Re: How to attach door to the base of pull out bins?

Hello @bijujose

I suggest having a look at this guide - How To Make A Pull-Out Trash Bin. It has an example of how the door can be attached to the pull-out bin. I have sent an email to Hafele about the bin installation. Once they respond, I will get back to you.

If you need further assistance, please let us know

Hello @bijujose

I have emailed you the installation file that Hafele has sent to me. I'm sorry, but there are no video installation guides available for this bin.

If you need further assistance, please let me know.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for your email. Please see the pictures of the bins that my builder has installed. Could you please let me know what type of angle brackets should I buy to attach the current hinge door to the bins? Thanks IMG_4255.jpgIMG_4253.jpgIMG_4252.jpgIMG_4251.jpg

Re: How to attach door to the base of pull out bins?

Hello @bijujose

I have placed a picture of your pullout bin with yellow circles. The bracket is already attached to your bin and does not need new brackets. You just need to mark the position of the brackets on your door and screw the door to the pullout mechanism of the bin. Make sure to remove the hinges as they are no longer needed. If you feel that it is too difficult, I suggest engaging the services of a handy person to attach the door for you.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Re: How to attach door to the base of pull out bins?

Hi Eric,

I noticed the brackets on the bins. Don’t we need similar brackets for the door as shown in the video guide? I was referring to those.

If the sliding mechanism attaches directly to the door, does the bin stay slightly open inside the cabinet?

Re: How to attach door to the base of pull out bins?

Hi @bijujose,

I believe the video Eric linked to was intended as an example of a similar product's method of installation.

I don't have access to the Hafele installation guide at present, but what Eric has said about attaching the circled brackets to your door makes sense as the solution.

In its current location, yes, the bin would stay slightly open inside the cabinet, but it is likely possible to unscrew the frame, move it forward and then reattach it to the base of the cabinet to rectify this.

Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
