How to remove garage floor efflorescence, fill cracks and paint?

G'day everyone,

I have read on a previous discussion forum about advice on treating eflloresence on Bunnings -How to stop efflorescence ( click link)

1. Please see the photos below of my garage floor, you can see some cracks that I would to fill in to prevent further crumbling and chipping.

2. I would also like to address the efflorescence issue and remove any oil stains from the floor.

3. I understand that Epoxy may be the best coating for this floor due to the hydrostatic pressure build-up at the entrance of the garage.

Thanks, everyone for reading and I look forward for some advice

Re: How to remove garage floor efflorescence, fill cracks and paint?

Hello @konsell

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. Its sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your garage floor.

I suggest having a quick look at this discussion - How do I fix up my garage floor so I can epoxy it? by @L-Plates. In it you'll find a reference on how to remove efflorescence. To fill the cracks, holes and other floor damage, I suggest using Earl's 500g Concremate Expanding Cement in combination with a scraper

However, before you begin painting your floor, I suggest addressing the water damage that is at the end of your garage. Is it from underground or was it just caused by the flow of water from the top? Once the issue has been addressed you can then start painting your garage floor.

Here are some handy step-by-step guides:
