How to install blade on Ozito bandsaw?

Hi,

I'd be grateful for some advice with the blade for my Ozito bandsaw, before I go insane, which I unboxed just yesterday. Though I can't really remember why I took the blade off in the first place, the thing is I just cannot get it to stay back on the two wheels. I've tried tensioning it a lot, tried not so much tension, but it keeps slipping back off either way. It begins centre-aligned but the moment I turn the wheels it comes off.  As it turns it seems to stay centered on one side of the top wheel while it rides to the front or back on the other side before popping back off - my photos might make it clearer what I mean.  Should I tension it as much as I possibly can to see if it stays put, which my instincts tell me not to? Also, should the Pulley Tracking Retaining Nut be loosened or tightened while tensioning the blade? Thank you in advance.

Re: Help With Installing Blade On New Ozito Bandsaw

Hello @tod

Thanks for sharing your question about your Ozito bandsaw. At the back of the unit is an adjustment knob for the wheel itself that controls its pitch. Please don't over tension the blade at this point in time. I've placed a link below that should help you re-adjust your bandsaw.

Here is a handy step-by-step guide: How to set up an Ozito Band Saw

If after following the guide and you still can't center the blade, I suggest bringing the saw back to the store and speaking to the tool specialist. They will then diagnose it and see what is causing the misalignment.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric

"before I go insane"

I would like to now how you get on with this @tod

I'm an amateur bandsaw user and I understand what @EricL and the video are saying - but to my eyes, if they are 'tensioned' photos above - your blade is positioned well on one side, but nearly off on the other side. Pitch won't fix that in my opinion. It's as if the wheel is twisted?

Is it doing the same on the bottom wheel?
