Many Bunnings stores offer a timber cutting service to help you get your wood home and get started on your project.
Here are some frequently asked questions about our timber cutting service to help Bunnings Workshop members.
What type of cuts can be done at a Bunnings store?
Bunnings stores typically have two types of saws for timber cutting.
Is this service available at my local Bunnings?
You can check whether the timber cutting service is available at a nearby store by visiting the Bunnings website. Here’s how:
Can I bring my own piece of timber to be cut?
Due to the many variables associated with timber products, we can only cut products purchased from our stores.
When is the best time to visit a store for timber cutting?
Visiting at a quieter time will ensure faster service. It's best to avoid weekends and public holidays as many other D.I.Y. enthusiasts will also be looking to build their own projects.
What if I want to do the cutting at home?
Knowing what saw to use and how to use it is the key to success. Here are some useful guides to get you started:
What if I can't get my timber home?
We offer a number of options to get your products home safely. You can use our free courtesy trailer for up to two hours. If you need more time you can also hire a trailer, a ute or a van to suit your needs. We also offer a comprehensive delivery service to assist you in getting your purchases home. Hi @Noyade,
The service is provided to assist customers to transport the goods home easily and not a precision-cutting service. While the quality of the cuts is almost solely determined by the machine, feel free to speak to the in-store team if you ever need further assistance.

All good.
I was witness to an argument late last year in store at the sawing area.
I shuffled on.
But I was wondering how it was resolved.
Cheers.

Hi @jbsykes,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.
Our full-size warehouses have cut shops that can cut timber to the nearest 100mm of length for transport. However, you will have to purchase the full length of timber.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hi
I would like to build a custom corner table unit between my ikea drawers
Should i use ply, mdf, melamine or timber
and also do bunnings cut the curve corner
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @leoncho. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about cutting curved shapes.
Unfortunately our saws can only make straight cuts and for your curve you'd need to do that at home with a jigsaw.
You could use plywood, though you would need to finish the cut edge with a moulding to make it look neat. MDF isn't typically used as a finished desk surface, but does look quite nice sealed with a polyurethane coating. Melamine is an option, but you'll need to add laminate edging to cover the exposed particle board core where you've cut.
The other option would be to use one of our timber panels. 980mm is quite wide, and typically 900mm like the Specrite 2400 x 900 x 33mm Timber Multi-Use Pine Panel is the largest size.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
