hi, I'm trying to remove this tap spindle so I can replace the tap valve. It doesn't seem to fit into any of the tap spanner set I bought, and it's too far into the wall to get a spanner onto it. Do you know how I could remove it?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about removing your old tap spindle.
This appears to be a very old tap spindle, and I recommend not taking it apart as there may be no spare parts available. Can you please tell us how old is the house? This will give us an idea of how old the tap fittings are. I suggest engaging the services of a licensed plumber to assess if the fittings are worth repairing or need replacing.
From a repair point of view, I suggest replacing them with new spindles so that they will be easy to repair in the future.
