Hi, what kind of trim would you recommend between tiles and hybrid floor. The hybrid floor will be slightly higher. The tile is outside the entrance door and exposed to the elements. There is a gap about 8 mm wide between the concrete subfloor and the tile. If anyone knows the reason, please let me know.
Thank you for any advice you could give me
Hi @Karellu,
Thank you for your question about the transition from tiles to hybrid flooring where there is a step up in height.
I'd suggest using a ramp transition trim such as this Roberts 1.65m Silver Senior Ramp Floating Floor Trim.
They can be installed using Roberts Ramp And Cover Trim Plugs for a seamless finish with no visible fixings.
I can't say I'm sure why there is a gap between the tile and the concrete, but it could be that the concrete rebated, so the face of the tiles sit level with the inside.
Let me know what you think.
Jacob
Hi @JacobZ, thank you for your suggestion. I'm reluctant to drill in the concrete subfloor as it looks already fragilised. Is there an alternative ?
Also there is a gap where I suppose I would drill and install the magic plug in, wouldn't it make the plugs sit too deep in the gap to install the trim securely on top ?
Thank you for your help!
