Hello, me again with another project
Our screen door security stopper ( not sure if this a name) snapped from the door frame, see picture. I was hoping to get it fix. I'm thinking, first cutting the bit of door frame that broke and replace it with a new piece. Then attach back the security stopper
Any tips on replacing wood is much appreciated. Thank you
Hi @johany,
That's a very thin strip of timber that the closer has been screwed into. You can cut the timber below the crack and glue and screw a new section in its place. I'd suggest using longer screws than what was supplied with the closer, so they penetrate through that thin strip of timber and into the door jamb. Make sure to pre-drill the new strip of timber, so it doesn't crack whilst screwing through it. I've created a few renderings below to get you on the right path.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
