I have an Ozito Power File in which the (rather small) carbon brushes have worn out - as they are designed to do in most electric motors. Usually, the brushes would be easaily replaced and available as a spare part, but not the case with this Ozito Power File. So for the want of a set of carbon brushes the tool is useless, although the rest of the tool is in good condition. It seems to me that Ozito is withholding spare parts so that we have to buy new tools. I think I have a right to repair my tools. From an environmental point of view, the waste here is phenomenal and reflects an incredibly greedy and irresponsible policy by Ozito, in my opinion. I would advise all purchasers to be careful about buying tools that you cannot repair.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workhsop community @miloz and thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry to read that Ozito's support hasn't met your expectations.
If you would like to share more details about the exact model number of your tool, one of our resident Bunnings D.I.Y. experts would be happy to assist and investigate your options.
Thanks again,
Jason
Hi Jason,
I tried without success to obtain spares from my local Bunnings in Maroochydore, also on the phone to Bunnings, to Ozito direct and companies that supply brushes although not specifically Ozito spares.
The file was purchased at Bunnings Maroochydore; Ozito FSR-3000 FILE SANDER

Hi @miloz,
I've gotten in touch with our Spare Parts team who are currently doing some investigation and will get back to me as soon as they can.
As soon as I have a response from them, I will update you.
Please bear with me.
Jacob
Hi @miloz,
Unfortunately, the Spare Parts team have informed me that Ozito no longer carries spare parts for the FSR-3000 file sander.
You might like to look at this Ozito 260W File Sander as an option for replacement.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
Does Ozito supply spare parts for that model, including carbon brushes?
Hi @miloz
Since we are heading into the weekend, we'll only be able to ask on Monday. But if their offices have officially closed for the holidays, I'm afraid we'll only be able to get an answer when they come back. But we will send an inquiry to Ozito in regards to the spare parts.
Happy Holidays.
Eric
Hi @miloz
I dont know if this has changed or just gradually watered down but it used to be law that spare parts where supposed to be carried for all equipment for several years that was brought into the country.
But some times the cost of the parts was so expensive it made things prohibitive to buy..
Another way to look at ozito is some times they are 3 times cheaper than top brands so you can blow up 2 ozitos and you still ahead if they out of the warrenty period that is. Now if you have two dead machines you might be able to scavage one for parts if they have differing faults.
Thanks jewelleryrescue - all you say is correct. There are no signs in Bunnings advising that spare parts are not available which is against consumer law. I can afford a new power file ( price increase 59 to 69 in 4 years), but the real issue is the tremendous environmental waste this ‘no repair’ policy generates, especially with such a complex piece of gear. In the past, companies were just as profitable when they made long lasting goods. In the past our beaches were loaded with sand worms and pipis, and the coral reef at my doorstep was crackling with life at low tide, but now the beaches are deserts and that reef is a mud flat. I haven’t seen a suburban koala for 60 years. Wake up Bunnings and stop greenwashing with boasts about your solar panels while you devastate our environment with these irresponsible policies.
Thanks for your feedback @miloz.
I will share your comments with the Bunnings Head of Sustainability as well as our Ozito buyer in the merchandise team.
As per Eric's post yesterday, our resident Bunnings D.I.Y. experts will let you know about spare parts for the Ozito 260W File Sander as soon as they hear back from Ozito.
