Hi, I would like to have an advice regarding issue we are facing. We have recently bought this house 3 years old, load bearing wall separating lounge and room there is passage. Both sides of wall there are multiple bulging showing up. Would you please advise what could cause this and any recommendations for solutions would be much appreciated.

Thank You

Re: bulging near load bearing wall both sides

Good Evening @patni209

I couldnt see any leaks in my roofing either, then after seeing drops form I knew I really should have a second look and a third. I still have not tracked down where the drips are coming from. (pretty much that sometimes it takes someone who deals with these issues to know what the small signs are)

As to suggestions about finding a builder, here are a few that I have used.

Ask workmates, ask friends who they have used. Best way to find someone decent as your friends will give you theier opinon for sure

Jump into the big blue social medial F pages, Search withing F pages and all of a suddern your newsfeed will be filled with builders, especially from your local area. I use the algorithum for my own benifits

Once you find one either on recomendations or in facebook land, have a look at their jobs/photos. I know they will only post the better ones but still its a way to see how decent they are.

Doing the above will find you someone local, prob not the cheapest but definently someone you have seen their work. I think its a wise move to have a "builder", a "sparky". a "plumber", and a "carpenter" in your list of tradie mates  Treat them right on their first job, give a hand if they let you and at the very least they will remember you for the next thing you have. I have a carpenter/builder mate and a plumber mate, both Ive met through work contacts

Re: bulging near load bearing wall both sides

Morning @patni209

Sorry it dosnt work that way

You and I could be anywhere between Aus and NZ  or even potentially anywhere.

This is somthing that you will start with as they will be your "go to" trades when possible.

Id pick say a carpenter to start with, then if you are happy with them ask if they know a plumber or sparky. They will know for sure and they will also know for your area  Its a matter of being friendly, being procative as in making clear decisions and discussing with them. You build up a relationship with them.

Re: bulging near load bearing wall both sides

Hi @patni209

When searching for a builder make sure they are a "registered builder" who will have a registered number. This qualification is chalk and cheese to a carpenter who are also commonly referred to or refer themselves as a "builder".

Another place to start other than @Dave-1 suggestions is to drop into a local building approvals company. They work with registered builders every day and will be able to steer you towards a few recommendations.

Thank you so much Dave ,

Re: bulging near load bearing wall both sides

Guys, do you recommend Building  inspectors can help finding cause?  One of workmate advised to get a building inspector. Please advise

EVening @patni209

A builder would be the person I would source, they will be able to see and fix it. A building inspector will check to see if there are issues and then list them for you, not neccasarily fix them. A building inspector will know the rules back to front I would also say.

Hello @patni209

I agree with @Dave-1's suggestion it's best to get a local builder instead of an inspector. When you do find a builder make sure that they have references so that they can show you their work and who they have serviced.
