Hi I am attatching a verander to a steel framed house. Are the rafter brackets attaching plate to fascia my best option?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @steelegoat. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about attaching a veranda.
It sounds like you’re working on attaching a verandah to a steel-framed house, but there isn’t quite enough information here to fully understand what you’re trying to achieve. Could you provide a bit more detail about your project? It's worth noting that fascias are typically not structural elements and can't be used as attachment points.
If possible, please share some photos of the area where the verandah will be attached, as this will help our community members better understand the situation and provide more tailored advice. If you’re having trouble uploading images, let us know, and we can provide assistance.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

I am wondering if it is possible to attach a wailing plate via rafter brackets the same you would on a timber framed house
Hi @steelegoat,
Typically, steel-framed homes use a lighter gauge framework, and the Extenda brackets are designed for timber frames. It's likely that you'd need to have the roof structure assessed by an engineer who will then be able to decide on whether that would be a suitable connection method or provide alternatives.
You might also like to reach out to the Roof Extenda technical team, which can take a look at your plans and offer suggestions.
