Do I need to prime my bookshelf before painting?
Using a primer in any painting project is a wise decision.
In the case of a chipboard bookshelf, it is certainly recommended. Not only does a primer ensure your topcoat adheres well, but it also ensures any defects don’t show through.
Don’t think of a primer as an additional cost, but rather a saving on additional topcoats that would otherwise be necessary.
