Happy new year everyone!
Thought I’d share some pics of a dollhouse I’ve been building for the past 6 months or so. I designed it myself and built it from mdf boards from Bunnings.
To be honest, I didn’t have a full plan, just an idea in my head and I just started from the bottom of floor and worked my way up.
I used stick on vinyl tiles for the flooring and contact for the walls (all from Bunnings). For the skirting boards, panelling and roof tiles I used balsa wood of different sizes which I found in the craft section - also from Bunnings.
The door frames, front windows, staircase and railing I purchased off Amazon & eBay, aswell as most of the furniture & accessories. Some of it I made using either wood or clay.
The lights are battery powered, I still have a few more on order that I’m waiting on, aswell as more furniture etc. Structurally it’s pretty much finished. I’ve also had a little plaque made for the back with a handwritten note from me to my kids as I hope this is something they will treasure and pass down to their kids one day.
I spent many many hours on it, but it was super therapeutic and really enjoyable.
If you have Instagram I saved the whole process in my highlights under “dollhouse” on my page @_prettyliving
Incredible work @prettyliving
The scaling down of all the details gives an illusion of realism that's really great. What a wonderful project !
