We had a problem with the court yard, where in heavy rain, the rain fall from the roof would make the ground would destroy the grass and then weeds would grow. So, I put in a gravel pebble path with one tile and gravel holders, reused the old edging and put in new timber edging with water proofing. I didnt use a weed mat as I wanted better drainage. Put some turf with seeds and not its looking way better. Its hard to grow grass here as my puppy and not enough sun light. so this is looking good now.
I like greek and Japanese gardens, they figured it out, low or zero maintenance. I have a puppy so I need the grass area so she can ruin it.
Terrific work, @JustinMcAbbe, and many thanks for sharing your project with us.
As nice as a well-kept lawn can be when it's grown under optimal conditions, it can also be a bit of work, especially if it receives too much water.
It's great to see you've resolved your issues, and we look forward to your next project.
