Changing a sliding door lock

Changing a sliding door lock

Good day, everyone. I'm experiencing an issue where my sliding door lock only locks or unlocks when the key is partially inserted rather than fully, so I believe it may need to be replaced. If I decide to change the lock, how can I ensure that I purchase the correct sliding door lock, given that I cannot identify the brand of my current lock? I've attached pictures of the lock for your reference. Thank you.

Re: Changing a sliding door lock

Hi @vchee,

You can bring the current lock to your nearest Bunnings store, and a helpful team member will be able to assist you in finding a suitable replacement lock. However, it's unlikely that you'll find a new lock that aligns perfectly with the existing holes in your frame. This means you might need to drill additional holes for new fixings. If you're not familiar with installing door locks, it might be a good idea to reach out to a professional locksmith or installer for assistance to ensure the job is done correctly and securely.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
