Re: will my fence get damaged hanging shadecloth ?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Brakes. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about attaching shadecloth.

It would be difficult to answer your question with any certainty. Typically, it is best to install standalone posts to support a shade sail; that way, you're ensured they can support the load. In high winds, shade sail can place a large amount of force on their fixings, and if the fence post or tree cannot support the sail, they could fail. Here's a helpful step-by-step guide on How to install a shade sail.

You might like to post some photos of the area so our members have a better understanding of what you'd like to achieve, and hopefully, they'll have some other suggestions.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Mitchell
