What is this flashing installation?

Hello there,

can anyone tell me if the attached photo a longitude flashing or horizontal flashing? Is the installation non-compliant to SA HB39:1997? or any other guidelines?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about flashing.

I am aware that the SA HB39:1997 was the second edition of the installation code for metal roofing and wall cladding in South Australia. It was superseded by the third edition, SA HB39:2015, which was published in 2015. However, I am not familiar with its content. If the inquiry is official in nature, I suggest engaging the services of a commercial roofing specialist in SA. They will be familiar with the installation of flashing and will be able to answer your technical questions. You can also ask for an inspection report and find out if the flashing needs repair or replacement.

Sorry I dont know the codes either. I havnt come across the need to source them to be honest. I would suggest to talk to a builder other then the one that installed the flashing for you. It might cost some dollars but would put you at peace of mind.

There also should be an inspector that belongs to the council or trade authority that may be anle to help you out.
