What adhesive for repairing pool coping?

Hey guys.

I'm doing a bit of copping around the pool, just some paving that have come loose. We have red brick pavers and fibreglass pool.  Which adhesive would be best for it??

Cheers

Re: pool coping

Hi @nerea,

Apologies for the delayed response. Thank you for your question.

I'd suggest using Dunlop 2kg Tile-All Tile Adhesive.

When the coping tiles have been removed, make sure you clean up and remove the old adhesive, so you have a smooth surface to work with. You may need a hammer and a bolster to chip up the old stuff. Once any hard adhesive has been removed, clean the surface with soapy water and a scrubbing brush

To ensure even coverage, apply your adhesive and spread it with a QEP 10mm Square Notch Trowel. Once the whole area has been covered with your adhesive, press the coping tile into position, making sure the notches of tile adhesive compress.

Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Re: pool coping

Thanks so much. I have it all ready and clean the old adhesive.

Just to note, this are not tiles...and brick pavers....still the same adhesive??

Cheers

Re: pool coping

Hi @nerea,

Yes, the tile adhesive is still the product I'd suggest.

Typically, you would use mortar with bricks, but mortar does not respond well to the chlorine and salt you will find around pools.

The tile adhesive is a cement-based adhesive that is very similar to mortar but is fine for use around pools.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Re: pool coping

Re: pool coping

Hello @nerea

Jacob's product recommendation is spot on, but if you are only doing one or two pieces then yes, you can use the Dunlop 310ml Tile-All Plus Premixed Tile Adhesive. But if you are doing quite a few pieces then it would be worth using the Dunlop 2kg Tile-All Tile Adhesive.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.
