Wanted to share with you all a project we have been working on at home, the last of the backyard that for sure!
It involves ALOT of rocks- not fun to shovel.
1. Levelled out the area first. We had some topsoil delivered and evened out the stretch of the area. We used about 2 metres of soil in the area.
2. We used 20mm crushed rock to then add another layer, like a onion :P. This enabled us to shovel it all down and then hired the small compactor to even out and compact the rock
3. We have had Tuscan Topping delivered, 2 metres, we will put this on top and then hire the compactor again to compact before we can finish this off
The shed in the photo is also from Bunnings, it was special ordered from Bunnings as its a different shape than whats on the shop floor. Its a Monument colour - matches the rest of our house.
The little succulent area was to fill a void in the area under the aircon! Its been thriving
Hi @Nikkaz
Thank you so much for sharing your sideway refresh project. I'm sure you're looking forward to this last part of the backyard makeover project. You're making fantastic progress and that area looks very level. Those succulents under the aircon look amazing, they must be benefitting from all the condensation that's occurring near the unit.
Please keep us updated with your progress, we look forward to seeing the sideway finished.
Eric
It's done!
2 metres of Tuscan Topping laid, compacted and settled.
Super happy we're done as I can't shovel anymore.
Hi @Nikkaz
Thank you so much for the final update on your backyard project. It looks great and that Tuscan Topping really blends in well with the area. Hopefully, you'll have some time out to rest those arms before you attempt your next project.
Again, thank you so much for sharing your backyard project.
Eric
Hi @Nikkaz
This came out great, well done!
How important would you say the small compactor is?
How long did the entire project take?
Katie
Compactor helped emensley @KatieC
It needs to be compacted in to allow for no movement.
