Repairing outdoor chairs

Repairing outdoor chairs

They're old - probably 66 years old. Aluminium frame.

I'm keeping them more to do with nostalgia that anything else.

But today fatigue fractures have destroyed the frame, around the bent areas. Luckily I wasn't in it. 😁

This is how they looked.

Start cutting the fractured ends off with a hacksaw...

Re: Repairing Outdoor chairs.

I found some steel pipe that fitted the internal diameter of the chair's tube.

Cut four lengths.

Hopelessly cut the wrong angles.

Second attempt was much better.

Hi @Noyade

That's a great repair job. It should be good for another 20 years.
