As it’s getting warmer when spring comes, so do the insects! There are some wasps lingering around my lower roof and they start building their homes in an adjacent fixed window and another in a vertical pipe behind the shade. I am not sure the specie but guess it is paper wasp?
I guess I can buy wasps spray to kill them - any recommendations, and any tactics we can get rid of them and prevent them coming back again?
thank you!
Hi @waltercflui,
They do look like paper wasps. I've always found this Green Diamond 350g Wasp Insecticide Nest Killer very effective. Its spray has a long throw, so you can stand well out of the zone while spraying the nest. It's best to do it at night when they've all returned and are less active.
Regarding prevention, I don't have much advice. Just hit the nest early with the spray when they first start to build it. Are you able to block off the vertical pipe with insect screen or wire mesh so they can build inside it?
Please let me know if you have any questions.
