1. Clear the space and measure the distance from wall to each post. Making sure distance between posts measured for horizontal post.
2. Dig two holes at points where the upright posts would stand.
3. Mix cement to place in holes and add a cement paver on each hole to level. Leave for 24hours to dry.
4. Place upright poles in base plates of pergola kit and joint on correct ends. Connect horizontal post to joints of vertical poles. Stand up vertical posts on cement pavers.
5. Add horizontal posts with wall bases into joints (2 ladders needed for this process).
6. Drill holes for wall posts. Secure into place with bolts.
7. Check everything level and then secure vertical posts with bolts.
8. Measure and place struts across top of pergola. Secure with two screws each end.
9. Paint pergola first coat and leave to dry.
10. Paint pergola with second coat.
Hi @Essentialsbylou,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for sharing your pergola project.
You have created a wonderful space for you and your loved ones to retire to and relax. The Toja pergola kits look fantastic, and the choice of paint colour goes with them nicely.
Congratulations on a job well done.
Jacob
