Hey all me again thought id ask anyone have any experience in making kids sandpits? Looking for plans and ideas for chrissy
I have a plan that I found in a magazine I got from the Hospice Shop. I’ll scan it and send a copy once I get my scanner running. I like these plans because part of the play area is storage.
Hey @Dark,
I'm sure a sandpit would be a popular Christmas present with the kids.
Have you seen the pirate ship sandpit plans on the Bunnings website? I'll embed the video below.
@gippslandhome was planning a sandpit project recently, while @LePallet has also build some, including this popular project - https://www.workshop.com.au/t5/Gallery/D-I-Y-kids-sandpit-and-chalk-board/cns-p/13780 - and this one with a fold out lid - https://www.workshop.com.au/t5/Outdoor/Sandpit-with-fold-out-lid-into-seats/m-p/21563
@woodalwaysworks also build one with fold-out seats - https://www.workshop.com.au/t5/Gallery/Sandpit-with-fold-out-seats-and-solid-top/cns-p/13672
Hope that helps give you some inspiration.
Jason
Hey all so heres the update. We went to bunnings for sleepers (1.5m x 20cm x 5cm) hand planed it till it was smooth then measured 1.3m for width did a half joint (forgot propper name) used enamel paint. The next step will be either a bench seat lid or a chalk board lid. The base will be just a tarp that will be tucked into the pit and sand dumped ontop. Pics below
When your cubby house/sand pit looks better than your house.
