Hi,
Around our front entrance we have a lot of wooden frames. I am not very handy but hoping to learn. The wood is looking weathered & flaking in parts. What do I need to get & do to restore the wood please?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's fantastic to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about preserving the timber trims around your door and windows.
The sealers and paint that are used on timber trims eventually deteriorate due to time and weather. At some point, they will eventually degrade and fall away. When you see this happening it's a sign that you need to put on a new coat of sealer. This also presents you with an opportunity to spruce up your timber trims. You can either paint it with traditional stain and varnish or get creative and paint it in colour.
The general steps to repair the timber trim are usually to sand down the timber trim and remove all the old sealer. The sanded timber must now be cleaned off with a clean rag and brush to remove all the sanding dust. The last step is to mask the areas that you don't want the paint to go onto such as the glass and the wall with masking tape.
