How to restore weathered timber posts?
Hi I’d like to restore these timber posts from my house that’s more than 10 years old
I have an east facing property so the 2 timber posts get a lot of direct sun
Any Advice and product tips would help! Thanks in advance:)

Re: how to restore weathered timber posts?
Hi @dd23,
A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is wonderful to have you with us.
Your timber posts look fairly good, albeit a bit faded. If the timber itself was in worse condition, I would suggest sanding them back, but I think you'll be fine just giving them a good clean and then applying an exterior oil.
My suggestion would be to give them a good clean with Intergrain 1L UltraPrep Timber Cleaner, ensuring you are thorough and remove all dirt, grease and contaminants.
Once clean, you can apply a clear oil such as this Intergrain 5L Clear Universal Timber Oil. Have a look at How To Oil Your Deck for some guidance. The application is different, but the process is the same.
Let me know what you think and if you have further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
Also, please remember to share some photos, it would be fantastic to see how they come up.
Jacob
