How to replace outdoor gate latch?
Hello community,
I need some ideas on this DIY project.
I've got this gate (see photo) that swings inwards and currently has a manual latch and lock.
I'm wanting to change the latch to a digital wireless one, so that it makes unlocking/locking easier.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Ideas for replacing outdoor gate latch
Hi @Thoo,
I haven't seen much offered regarding wireless gate latches that allow you to unlock/lock the gate remotely. There are digital locks, such as the Lane Black Digital Gate Lock, that will do away with keys, but they're not remote. You could potentially install a kit like this Richmond Automatic Gate Opener For Double Swing Gates that would allow you to operate the gate with a remote.
Let me mention one of our wireless specialists, @CSParnell, to see if he has some nifty ideas.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: Ideas for replacing outdoor gate latch
Hey @MitchellMc and @Thoo,
Probably nothing in the world of wireless automation technology as all major brands build those locks for internal and external timber doors but I understand what you are trying to achieve by creating an easier way to open the gate from the other side yet making it secure at all times.
This product maybe what you are looking for. Lane Black Digital Lock
Let me know what you think

Re: Ideas for replacing outdoor gate latch
Sounds like you need a magnetic lock with a WiFi interface, Security Specialists might be required to install such a system, apart from the mag-lock plates which could be easily fitted to your gates, the control module requires a 24/7 power source and back up battery (to prevent the gate opening during power outages), instead of WiFi a small key fob could also be used in a similar fashion to a swipe access card (and added) to your house keys 😉
NIDAC (Presco) make Industry Standard access control modules, some of their product line feature Android/Apple app control.
