What would be the best product to use to repair this render? When the builders built the house they pulled down the original brick pillars and redid them. In the process they damaged the render, which had only been done to the edge of the pillars. I would like to repair this, this weekend and give it a quick coat of paint before I have a house valuation next Tuesday. So I need something that will cure pretty quickly and is easy enough for a competent beginner. I am pretty good at patching plaster and other repair jobs so pretty sure I can handle this.
Hi @nixybrown,
Experienced community member @Nailbag has shared a comprehensive step-by-step guide that should contain everything you need: How to repair a rendered wall.
Please have a read and let us know if you have any follow-up questions.

Sorry I should have said that under the Render is Expanded polystyrene (EPS) cladding not brick. I am not sure if that changes the product that I should be using to do the repair as it is not a masonry base.
Hi @nixybrown,
Thank you for the clarification.
If you were rendering the whole wall, there are specific renders designed for EPS that I would advise using, but for a small patch, the Polyfilla 500g Exterior Brick and Render Masonry mentioned in @Nailbag's guide should be fine.
As long as the EPS is stable and you follow the steps in How to repair a rendered wall closely, you won't have any issues.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Jacob
I agree with @JacobZ to @nixybrown that your small repair areas will be fine too use the products and technique in my article.
