Re: How to install a privacy screen without drilling?

Afternoon @Reuben

One way to mount the type of privacy screen you are wanting is to mount some Upside down U styled brackets that fit over the hand rail, long side down to the floor height, short side maybe 400mm. That way you could attach some timber rails to the long side pieces and then attach the screen you want to them.

You could also make the Upside down U shapes from timber, Id suggest three all up. That would also work but may look a little chunky from the outside

One last way would to be to install posts and rails on the back of solid planter boxes that way the weight of the box is what keeps the screen in place. Just found this while looking for an example of planter box with backing  Planter box privacy screen with bench seat

Re: How to install a privacy screen without drilling?

Hi @Reuben,

It looks like there’s a gap between the wall and the balcony wall at the end. You could take advantage of this by running a long loop of stainless steel wire across the front at the top and around the back, securing the two ends together behind the wall. This would create a strong wire mounting point at the top of the balcony wall without the need for drilling. From there, you can position your bamboo screen or artificial hedge against the wire and use cable ties to attach it securely. This setup should hold everything in place while keeping your balcony wall damage-free.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
