How to install a gate latch that can be opened from both sides?

Looking at removing the current latch to a latch that would enable me to operate the door from both ways and use a padlock inside the yard. Sharing some pics.

Re: Installing a Latch for yard fence

Hello @shokam

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your yard fence.

I propose looking at the Ikonic Satin Chrome Digital Entry Lock. It is perfect for when you need secure access but require the convenience of keyless entry. It features a re-settable digital keypad, this IP44 weatherproof rated lock is suitable for door thicknesses from 35mm to 65mm. In order to use this lock, I suggest getting a builder or handy person to modify your gate frame and adding timber to its side so that the lock can be mounted properly. You'll have the safety of a locking door without needing a key. But you can still re-install your old pad bolt if you wish to lock it permanently from the inside.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
