Hi Brain trust,
We are planning to create another entrance to our house through a fence gate, but the gate currently has no latch. Is there a way to install a latch?
I’m considering this option:
LokkLatch Deluxe S3 Gate Latchhttps://www.bunnings.com.au/lokklatch-deluxe-s3-gate-latch_p0336015?store=8196&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA-a...
Would this be a good choice?
This gate will be used frequently, so a traditional latch that requires a padlock, such as this one:
Pinnacle Galvanised D-Pattern Dual Opening Gate Latch, doesnt seem convenient for us
_______________
What tools and material should I purchase to install it properly ?
Many thanks for any advice
Hello @ivanptr
I like your choice in regards to the Lokklatch Deluxe S3 Gate Latch. It is much better than the standard "D" latch gate opener and it is much more robust. My only advice is to double check the thickness of the metal frame to make sure that the gate latch will fit properly. The tools you will need are a cordless drill, a drill bit that can go through steel, a Philips bit, screws that can anchor onto steel, a manual screwdriver and pencil along with a ruler.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
