How to fix loose tile and fill gap in front patio?

Hi, I am new to this community so pardon me if I haven't posted this in the right place and direct me to the correct forum.

A slate tile has been broken into 3 pieces in my front patio and the broken tile has large gaps and doesn't fully fit in the area.

Here are the pictures with and without the loose tiles:

The size of this area is 180mm x 150mm and it is roughly about 8mm deep.

Since these slate tiles are hard to get nowadays, I was wondering what is the best way to fix this:

1. Glue the tile and use gap filler or

2. Remove the broken tiles and just fill the void with mortar or something else

Re: Fix loose tile and fill gap in front patio

Hello @cool0

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about fixing your loose tile.

I suggest using Dunlop 310ml Tile-All Plus Premixed Tile Adhesive to stick the tile back into position. Please make sure that all the surfaces are clean and free of dust and debris. Once you have glued the tile into place give it enough time to cure before putting in the grout. I suggest using Dunlop 800g Ready-To-Go Coloured Grout in the same colour of your current grout. Wipe away the excess grout and make sure it is nice and flat. Make sure to cover the area so that no one accidentally steps on your repair job.

If you have any other questions we can help with, pleas e let us know.

Eric
