Do we need to lay anti-fracture matting under tiles that are being laid on concrete slabs?
Hello @1612
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about anti-fracture matting.
I believe that anti-fracture matting is mostly used in trade applications where the base is subjected to heavy vibrations from trucks, forklifts and heavy-duty vehicles. Generally, for domestic installation it's not needed as there is not a great deal of vibrations being transmitted to your floor. Please note that the anti-fracture matting needs to be ordered at the special orders desk.
Just in case you are curious, I've placed an installation guide below.
Here is a handy step-by-step guide: How to lay floor tiles using an anti-fracture / crack isolation membrane and tile adhesive.
