Can you lay microcement over pavers around pool?

Can you lay microcement over pavers around pool?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to micro cement over these pavers in my pool area? Is micro cement extremely slippery when wet? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: microcement over pavers in pool

Hi @christinaa16,

Thank you for your question about micro cement.

The frequently asked section of the Dulux Creativo Microcement website states that,

"It is not recommended in swimming pools, baths, splash-backs, exterior horizontal surfaces, or on bench’s near cook tops or wherever prolonged water stagnation is present."

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like it can be used in this application.

Please allow me to make some enquiries with our suppliers when they reopen this coming week. I can see if there is a similar alternative that could be used in this application.

Re: Can you lay microcement over pavers around pool?

Hi @christinaa16,

Unfortunately, the advice I've received from our suppliers is that microcement is not suitable for this situation as it can only be applied up to 3mm thick.

The gaps between the pavers will not allow the microcement to be applied this thin. This, combined with the potential movement of the pavers makes it unsuitable as a substrate for microcement.

You might like to have a look at the Dulux Concrete & Paving Range as a potential alternative.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Jacob
