hello I am wondering if I can cat proof my back yard (keep my cats safe) with netting without it damaging roof or fence, apologies I am a total novice - I am on a budget too and have 2 cats and the free standing ones don’t look big enough
Hi @kateym80,
Thank you for your question about using cat netting in your backyard.
Is it possible to get some photos of your backyard? This will help our members design a method you can use to attach cat netting that is specific to your situation.
It's hard to say without seeing the yard, but you will likely need to cause some minor damage to the fence and fascia of your property for the netting to be securely attached. You would likely need to attach the netting using staples such as these Paslode 15 x 2.0mm Galvanised Staple Nail or these Everhang 20mm Zinc Plated Screw Eye Hooks.
This could be avoided by building an independent frame such as the one my colleague @EricL has proposed in How to attach netting for cat enclosure on deck?
You might also like to check out D.I.Y. mesh cat enclosure from @Chrissie35 for some inspiration.
Let me know if you need assistance uploading images, I am more than happy to help.
