Hi I was interested in purchasing your Megatraet textured primer to cover some pebble crete on an elevated front porch and stairs . After alot of work using a concrete grinder chisel I have been able to remove the pebblecrete from the horizontal surfaces but it will be impossible to remove from the vertical faces of the stairs and edging of the porch. Will the megatreat primer work well on vertical surface and hold or is it more suited to horizontal surface.
Can I use a paving paint over the top of the Megatreat primer as most of the surface has be ground back I would like to use a different color to what they have available to tint.
Hello @Castle123
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us and thank you for sharing your question about pebblecrete.
That is an excellent question, allow me to make some inquiries with Megatreat and find out for you. I will also ask if it's possible to use paving paint on the Megatreat primer. As soon as I have more information, I'll get back to you.
Thank you for your patience.
Eric
Hello @Castle123
I've been in contact with our suppliers, and they don't recommend using their product over the Megatreat primer. Unfortunately, no test have been conducted for these products to work together so it's difficult to predict how they will react to each other.
However, the good news is that the Megatreat paint itself can be tinted to different colours. I recommend speaking to the stores paint specialist and finding out if your preferred colour can be tinted into the Megatreat product. They have also confirmed that the primer can be applied on a vertical surface. Please make sure that it is totally clean, free of dust and debris.
If you need further advice, please let us know.
