Upcycled wardrobe and drawers

Upcycled an older style wardrobe and a free small drawer set.

Materials

  • Sandpaper
  • paint
  • wallpaper
  • glue/water mix sealer.

Tools

Steps

Step 1

1.  Sanded both furniture pieces and washed over to remove dust.

Step 2

2. When dry, gave both pieces 2 coats of undercoat, drying and light sanding in between coats.

Step 3

3. Using exterior paint for a stronger finish, applied 2 coats, with light sanding in between coats.

Step 4

4. Applied the opshop wallpaper using wood glue, to the centre panel and drawers on the wardrobe, and to the top and draw fronts of the small drawer set.

Step 5

5 Sealed all the wallpaper with a 70/30 mix of wood glue to water, applying 2 coats.

Thanks for sharing your upcycled wardrobe cabinet with drawers. It's a fantastic transformation and the wallpaper really gives it such a wonderful personality. The white paint has really modernized the look and feel of this cabinet. The bright colour you've chosen has really made it stand out. Would it be possible for you to post a photo of the inside of the cabinet as well?
