The before
120 grit sandpaper
Cabot's timber paint
Zinsser primer
Sealer
Paint brush
New hardware
Started with cleaning the entire piece down
Scuff sanded using 120grit paper where I was painting
I did a coat of primer although not needed for the paint. I did this anyway.
The paint colour choice was Baritone by Taubmans and was mixed into deep base Cabot's timber paint
Applied x 2 coats light sand in between coats
Sanded the top and applied white stain and glaze then sealed in Cabot's cabothane clear.
New hardware attached
Hello @inspiredbycoast
Thank you very much for sharing your upcycled cabinet project. The cabinet finish is wonderful, but I am intrigued by the finish of the cabinet top. You mentioned that you applied white stain and glaze, can you please tell us more about that? What were the products you used to get such a bright looking top?
Again, thank you for sharing such an excellent project.
Eric
Thanks Eric. The top I used another product which is a white stain and glaze from Pureco Australian based company. And I then sealed it with Cabot's cabothane clear
Hey there,
Did you use a water base or oil based paint? and did you apply with just paint brushes or with rollers? (if with roller what kind/nap)
Hello @JesseS6
Let me tag @inspiredbycoast to make them aware of your question. I suspect a roller was used to apply the paint, but let's wait for Inspiredcoastal to confirm.
