Hi everyone,
I’m still living in this cute granny flat. However, some cracks are appearing and little ants are coming in through these. Pest control was already here but it looks like the ants are actually coming from the outside and don’t have their nest in the wall but are rather everywhere around the house. Can someone tell me how to best close these gaps (temporary solution would be perfect, but I’m also happy to discuss permanent solutions with my landlady). Also, is there any way to clean up these disgusting little spots around it 🤢?
Hi @Bekommstenicht_,
Thank you for sharing your question about sealing gaps to prevent ants from getting into your home. I propose using dishwashing liquid in combination with a soft sponge to clean the spots around the exit point on your wall. Once the wall is dry, I suggest using Selleys 100ml Translucent No Mould Resistant Silicone Sealant, it comes with a nozzle point integrated with the bottle. I recommend cutting only a small opening so that you can apply a small bead over the tiny gaps the ants have made on your wall.
Once the silicone cures it should prevent the ants from coming through that gap.
