Some scratches and wear out of the hardwood desk might be repaired to restore previous glory. How to do the work properly? The desk is about 15 years old.
repair the scratch and match the colour of the desk, how?
Hi @Honest52,
To restore the desk to its previous glory, you'd likely need to sand the top back. The scratches do not look particularly deep, so you might just need to sand back the coating with 180-grit sandpaper to reveal the timber underneath. You can then sand the timber with 240-grit and then 320-grit to ensure the timber is smooth and scratch-free. From there, you can recoat with a stain and varnish.
Here's a helpful step-by-step guide: How to restore wooden furniture.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks !
Any quick fix, only 1 hour work to cover up the scratches. I was told some colour wax or something available to fix the scratches?
