Through wear and tear and leaning on the door. It runs smoothly when it is not scraping against the side.

Any advice?

Re: How to fix interior sliding door?

Hello @Elizabeth22

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your internal sliding door.

Two things come to mind when an interior sliding door starts to get loose. The wheel assembly has started to wear down and is no longer able to keep the door straight. The screws holding the door have come loose and can't keep the door firmly in place when moving. Once you have access to the sliding rail assembly, you'll be able to see what needs fixing or replacing.

In order to get access to the door sliding mechanism one of the door trims at the top must be removed. If your builder anticipated this, it's possible that they could have screwed the timber trim in place and all you need to do is to unscrew it. But if they nailed in place you'll need to use a Craftright 380mm Wrecking Bar to lift the trims off the wall. Please be careful when taking the top trims off as you'll need to use them again once you've made repairs.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
