my chef gas stove is not starting. Please check if gas inlet valve is in right position or what other switches I need to touch on

Re: 54cm chef free standing gas stove cooker

Good evening @yas123

Looking under my gas stove at the gas handle position - I suspect yours is in the off position.

Re: 54cm chef free standing gas stove cooker

I turned it on. Still not working

Power to the oven on?

Is there a 'spark' - when you press ignite?

Re: 54cm chef free standing gas stove cooker

I have a Lofra oven.

It's rubbish.

Occasionally it needs adjustments at the sparking position for the oven.

Sometimes the distance from gas to spark is too much.

Even stoves not turning on

Hi @yas123,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community.

It is great to see @Noyade has already offered some troubleshooting advice.

Unfortunately, I do not have any other troubleshooting advice to add. Where gas is involved, for your safety and the safety of your loved ones, it is always best left to the professionals.

If you needed to find a licensed gas professional in your area, I suggest using a service such as Airtasker, HiPages or True Local.

Re: 54cm chef free standing gas stove cooker

Hi @yas123

I just assumed it had electric ignition - which creates a spark and ignites the gas. Which needs 240 Volts.

So no?

You need a lighted match or flame gun to light the cooktops and oven?

The griller certainly has a piezoelectric starter.

Does the griller light?

How old is this stove/oven?

Yours?

Are you in a rental?

I share @JacobZ 's concerns above.
