Upcycled hutch and buffet table

Recycled a hutch and buffet furniture which now proudly sits as a centrepiece next to our dining room area.

Steps

Step 1

1. Bought a used hutch and buffet table.

Step 2

2. Removed glass doors at the top.

Step 3

3. Sanded down timber

Step 4

4. Whitewashed furniture except table top.

Step 5

5. Applied linseed oil on tabletop

Step 6

6. Replaced to vintage knobs

Step 7

7. Accessorise.

Thank you so much for sharing your hutch and buffet upcycle project. That white finish gives the cabinet a fresh new look, that new seal on the benchtop looks fantastic. Your decision to remove the doors has made the cabinet look modern and much more open. How long did the entire project take and what kind of paint did you use?

Took me about 2 weeks. Mainly allowing the sanding process to settle and drying time for the paint.

 

I used vivid white which was the base paint leftovers for my house. 😊
