Interior oven light needs replacement
unable to shift the glass cover
Is there a tool or method to help unscrew it?
Hello @peter24099191
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about replacing your oven light.
I propose using Ansell Large Workmates Rubber Gloves or Appetito Silicone Jar Opener Red to grip the glass cover and see if you can get a grip to twist it open. If that does not work, I can only suggest engaging the services of an oven specialist to get it professionally serviced.
Let me call on our experienced members @Dave-1 and @Nailbag for their recommendations.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
Eric
Thanks I will try anything
the main problem is lack of space around the fitting
its poorly designed
Good Evening @peter24099191
What a pain 😕 I like @EricL's suggestion and can only add go slow on the turning, Last time I replaced mine (years ago) I remember it being very stubbon.
You could heat the oven and then let it cool to the point you can touch the insides. Then try turning using a teatowel in case it breaks mainly.
Cant really add to it as the griping suggestion and the heat are the two main ways Id try.
Would like to know if it works or fails Mainly so the next person has something to build on.
Dave
If @EricL solutions is unsuccessful, then I have a rubber band strap wrench which I have used on our old oven light glass. The handle provides additional leverage and the rubber is non-damaging. But firstly I have it a good spray at the base with a silicone spray, left it for 15min and then dried it with a microfibre cloth before using the wrench. Hopefully this can work for you too.

Thanks Guys for your suggestions I will try the rubber band wrench
up till now it’s been unmovable so wrench leverage might work
will get back back to this afterwards
