Dishwasher connection

Hello all. DIY newcomer here.

Looking to change the under sink valve so I can have a dual connection for both the cold water tap, and a dishwasher. Brand new to dishwashers so not sure what connection I would need.

Connected single valve is pictured.

Attached is a picture of a couple valve taps which I already picked up. Not sure if they will work but I live at least an hour from Bunnings. Aware now they I will need some thread tape and wrenches to get the valve off.

Re: Dishwasher connection

Hi @Juddyman

The taps you selected are for fitting into a female thread.

The Stop Cock in your photos is screwed onto a male 15mm thread

So you will need a double stop cock the one I suggest in the link has only one tap handle for both outlets there is no need for dual taps and it will replace your single kitchen outlet. nicely.

Re: Dishwasher connection

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Juddyman. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about converting a tap.

@Jewelleryrescue is on the money there, and those fittings have male threads, whereas you need one with a female thread. The product they've linked to is what you should be using.

Changing a tap is considered plumbing work and requires a licensed tradesperson for the installation.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
