Hi,
What is the most economical way to buy mulch? I am thinking of euci mulch, but buying it in bags from Bunnings seems expensive.

Steve
Thanks Eric,
The area is not a shape that can be measured easily, see attached image. this is just part of the garden, the rest is a similar group of shapes, butted up against two straight border fences.

Steve
Could you post an image of the whole garden @SteveC? This one bed might use a quarter of a cubic meter at most. The 6.5 cubic meters suggested above would be a significant amount of mulch.
Mitchell
Hi Mitchell,
Please see attached video. I did a rough measurement today and came up with 74 m² which at a 40mm depth would be around 3 m³.
This did not include areas where no mulch is required due to planting density. As you can see from the video, that would account for 30-40% of the area, so probably only 2m³ would be required.
The weeds in the front section are now all gone, I removed them all today!
Regards,
Steve
Hello @SteveC
Thanks for posting that video of your garden. I agree with your estimate of 2 cubic meters, it should be enough to cover the area as there are a great number of plants that don't need coverage.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eucy mulch is a bit out of my budget at this point, would sugar cane mulch be OK?
Regards,
Steve
Hello @SteveC
I believe sugar cane mulch should be perfectly fine for your garden. To add further weed protection, I suggest covering the area with weed control mat.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Thanks
