How to build an nft frame for a balcony?

1000008531.png

Hi all,

Does anyone know a cheap way I can go about making a frame like this? I already have the channels and the reservoir. Just struggling to make a frame. I also don't have access to power tools other than a drill. I was thinking maybe small PVC pipes or maybe timer off cuts.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers!

Re: how to build an nft frame for a balcony?

Hello @itsangus

Thanks for sharing your question about building an NFT frame for your balcony.

Just to inform our members NFT stands for nutrient film technique and is used in aqua gardening. If you are planning on using PVC as your frame, I suggest using the Holman Ezyfit System. This allows you to connect the PVC pipes together and create a square or rectangular frame.

You'll need a tape measure, pencil and a handsaw to cut and measure the PVC to create your table frame.

My best advice is to glue the pipe and corner connectors very well. I also suggest not using anything lower than 25mm in diameter as smaller pipework will often bend when too much weight is applied to it.

If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.

Eric
